There are three persons in English- first, second, and third (singular and plural). See the chart below. Person determines if someone is speaking, is being spoken to, or is being spoken about in a sentence.
Verbs in English are marked for person in a limited way by observing the subject-verb agreement rule in simple present tense sentences.
